The Joint Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Colonel General Senad Mašović, at a traditional press conference held to mark December 1 – AFBiH Day, said that during over the past 16 years, the armed forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina have grown into a respectable, specific but very recognizable military force.
“As the only legal, legitimate and professional military force of the State of Bosnia and Herzegovina, for the past 16 years, the professional and responsible execution of statutory missions and tasks, both at home and abroad , AFBiH has acquired a great deal of confidence from national government institutions and an important reputation in the international community. Although they have faced various challenges and difficulties over all these 16 years, in 2021 AFBiH has managed to achieve a significant number of achievements, progress, as well as very valuable successes ”, said Mašović .
He clarified that this year, AFBiH carried out the NATO assessment exercise of the light infantry battalion group.
“The exercise was carried out under the supervision and evaluation of members of NATO’s mobile teams. The Light Infantry Battalion Group has demonstrated a high level of professionalism, but also a high level of training and interoperability, which is crucial for becoming a full member of NATO ”, General Mašović said.
In the presence of the Minister of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), Sifet Podzic and a limited number of guests, in accordance with the determined protective measures against the COVID-19 epidemic, the 8th class of officers of the Armed Forces (AF) of BiH have been promoted Yesyesterday at the Professional Development Center (CPR), Travnik.
During the solemn ceremony, 17 male candidates and 2 the candidates for the initial rank of lieutenant were admitted to AFBiH.
The most successful participant in the 8th Basic Officer Class Training was Lieutenant Sanela Pasalic, who addressed the class on this occasionasion and said the time that they spent in training at the Professional Development Center was demanding but also very important, and they managed to build a team, because, as she said “strengthth is in the team“.
Minister of Defense of BH, Sifet Podzic congratulated the young officers on their promotion to the rank of lieutenant and noted in his address that at the beginning of his military career, and nowadays, it is very important to comply with all legal regulations in BH, in particular the law on the defense of BH and the law on Service in AFBiH.
Podzic stressed that, in accordance with the legal framework, AFBiH is the only legal and legitimate body, and professional force in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
