CHARLOTTE, North Carolina — Police fatally shot a gunman who was apparently threatening a Walmart store employee in North Carolina, authorities said Friday.
A security guard at a Walmart store on the east side of Charlotte told officers a man pointed a gun at him and also threatened to shoot officers if they responded, according to a statement from police press.
As officers approached the man, they perceived a “deadly threat” and fired at the man, according to the police statement. He said officers tried to save the man until emergency medical personnel arrived. Police also said a firearm was recovered from the scene.
