PM Modi hands over locally developed light combat helicopter to armed forces

Prime Minister Narendra Modi handed over to the Indian Air Force in Jhansi a designed and developed light combat helicopter and other defense equipment locally manufactured in Jhansi on Friday as part of the ongoing event “Rashtra Raksha Samarpan Parv “of Fort Rouge.

The Prime Minister also handed over to the Army Chief of Staff drones and drones designed and developed by Indian startups.

LCH is a new addition to the helicopter division of HAL. This twin-engine helicopter is a dedicated 5 to 8 ton class combat helicopter.

The LCH incorporates advanced technologies and stealth features for effective combat roles and is designed to fulfill roles such as destruction of enemy air defense, counterinsurgency, search and rescue, anti-tank operations, operations counter-surface, etc.

The LCH is the only attack helicopter in the world capable of landing and taking off at an altitude of 5,000 m (16,400 ft) with a considerable load of weapons and fuel.

The Indian military has decided to source these drones from Indian industry and startups after extensive testing and testing. The deployment of Indian drones by the Indian Armed Forces is also proof of the growing maturity of the Indian drone industry ecosystem.

The Prime Minister then handed over the advanced EW suite designed by DRDO and Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) manufactured for warships, including that of the Indian aircraft carrier Vikrant. The Advanced EW suite will be used in various warships including destroyers, frigates, etc. and marks a big step towards “Aatmanirbhar Bharat”.
