“Mission Frontline”: Rohit Shetty and Farhan Akhtar’s day with the armed forces in Jammu and Kashmir before R’Day

Filmmaker Rohit Shetty, who once hosted ‘Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi’, is spending a day with the armed forces in Jammu and Kashmir to understand what is going on in their lives.

The special episode will also feature actor and director Farhan Akhtar.

With that, Shetty, who entertained audiences with his comedic films and action thrillers, will make his OTT debut.

The pair spent the day following the officials as they went about their daily business. It was part of the “Mission Frontline” show, which has already seen stars such as Rana Daggubatti and Sara Ali Khan.

For the show, Shetty and Farhan stepped into the shoes of a Special Operations Group soldier and Rashtriya Rifle soldier to find out how the units live and train in the harsh places they are assigned to.

The show was shot in and around Srinagar.

Kunal Kochhar, the show’s director, said Rohit Shetty is synonymous with action, so no one else could be more qualified than him for the job. “Rohit Shetty’s films reflect patriotism, courage and vigor and there couldn’t be a better candidate for ‘Mission Frontline’ than him”,
PTI reported citing Kochhar.

During filming, Akhtar even became nostalgic for his film “Lakshya”. While interacting with Col Bheemaiah PS, Farhan said, “2003 is when we shot ‘Lakshya’ so before that I spent a lot of time in Ladakh mainly but now when I’m here I I feel really, really nostalgic about it. The time we spent because you guys became family and I think about them a lot today and miss them a lot.”

“Mission Frontline” premieres January 20 on Discovery+.
