Launch of breakfast clubs in York for members of the armed forces and veterans

Members of York’s Armed Forces community are invited to join a breakfast club for the chance to meet other veterans.

The Armed Forces and Veterans of All Ages Breakfast Clubs allow members of the Armed Forces family to meet face to face in a relaxed, safe and social environment.

“People can come over for breakfast and joke around with others who have similar and shared experiences, which can help combat the loneliness some veterans feel when they leave the service,” a doorman said. -word of York City Council.

There is no charge and people just have to pay for their own breakfast. Clubs do not exist to raise funds for any charity, organization or business and are purely social events.

Sessions are open to all members of the Armed Forces family, including regular members of the Army, Navy, and Air Force, reservists, veterans, veterans of all ages, and their families. .

The clubs are part of a wider support network in York for armed forces personnel, which includes a comprehensive guide to support available locally.
