Corona police shot dead gunman in family disturbance appeal – press enterprise

Corona police shot dead a gunman on Sunday evening, December 12, after responding to a family disturbance in a residential area, police said in a press release on Monday (December 13).

At approximately 8:15 p.m., police were called with family disturbances in the 1000 block of West Rancho Road, the Corona Police Department said. When officers arrived, they encountered Cristian Alanzo Anguiano de Corona, 32, in the driveway of the house, authorities said.

Anguiano refused to comply with police orders, entered the house and forced himself into a room where members of his family were hiding, according to the police department. The police then entered the house to intervene and found Anguiano with a “bladed weapon”, which led to the police firing at Anguiano, police said.

The police department is not disclosing the specific type of weapon Anguiano was armed with, Cpl said. Tobias Kouroubacalis, police spokesperson.

Anguiano received medical attention at the scene before being taken to Riverside Community Hospital in an ambulance, where he later died of his injuries, police said.

Some of Anguiano’s family were injured by him in the incident, Kouroubacalis said. No officer was injured in the incident, he said.

Details of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department force investigation will lead the investigation into the police shootings alongside the police department, authorities said.
